Reginald H. Trotter IV of La Crosse, Wisconsin, was the first (and last) graduate of the Equestrian Etiquette Finishing School for Mythical Gentlemen. With a handshake as firm as his fetlocks and a stare that could curdle cream, Reggie was the pride of the upper pasture.

Though invited to most high-society events, he was frequently seated near the punch bowl to minimize chair incidents. An avid reader and semi-professional fencer (with both the sword and wooden perimeter variety), Reginald spent his afternoons composing poetry no one could understand and his evenings galloping dramatically into the fog.

Despite his outward poise, he struggled with the usual hybrid dilemmas: formalwear with extra legs, the ethics of oats, and whether to neigh or just sigh heavily at family gatherings.

This portrait was taken moments before he leapt over a hedge and vanished, reportedly in search of a place where both halves of him could be truly understood.

Colin Batty is an artist from Manchester, UK. He has worked on countless cool projects including Tim Burton's, Mars Attacks, the Oscar nominated short, The Sandman, Eddie Murphy's, The PJ's and many, many more. Colin has contributed to Freakybuttrue for many years and graces this site with his amazing designs, incredible sculptures, comics and his world famous cabinet card paintings and so much more.

Each original cabinet card is a genuine one hundred year old (or more) photograph on which Colin directly paints. Photographs of this age are often creased, scratched, deteriorated, and otherwise worn. Colin often utilizes the character of the wear to find inspiration.

Each card is signed and dated by the artist.
