Horatio and Clementine Pimberly were the pride of Williamsport—equal parts refined, reclusive, and unmistakably simian. Born under unusual lunar circumstances (and a suspiciously jungly fragrance), the Pimberly twins were raised on etiquette, epistemology, and endless amounts of hair oil.
Though their lineage was politely unspoken in local society (some claimed it involved a lightning strike and a haunted zoological exhibit), their manners were impeccable. Horatio read Voltaire aloud to his crumpets. Clementine could curtsy so low it caused emotional breakthroughs in onlookers.
They never missed a garden party, though they often perched rather than sat. Their tails were said to twitch when someone nearby told a lie, which made them highly sought-after guests and deeply feared bridge partners.
This portrait commemorates the unveiling of their jointly authored volume, "Politesse and Primate Instinct: A Guide for the Modern Gentleman (and His Sister)." The book sold poorly but was revered in esoteric circles and one very advanced treehouse commune.
